HPP New Year’s dinner about the investment climate in the Netherlands

On 16 January 2023, HPP is hosting a New Year’s dinner with Chris Kuijpers, Director General of Housing and Construction at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. Among other things, we discuss the signals we are getting from foreign investors: if the political climate in the Netherlands does not change, they will consider no longer investing in Dutch real estate.

Real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield will shed light on real estate investment in the Netherlands during the dinner. We have seen how important the contribution of international investors is; without them, there would be no office market in the Netherlands. However, the current Dutch political climate is causing investors to slam on the brakes. Foreign institutional investors are wondering if they should avoid the Netherlands for the time being; something that could have serious consequences for the real estate sector in our country.

While enjoying a good dinner, Chris Kuijpers will join several tables to hear first-hand what obstacles foreign investors face in the Netherlands. We will create a confidential, open atmosphere to discuss these and other issues with each other.

When: Monday 16 January
Time: 17:30h walk-in, 18:00h meeting and dinner
Where: Koninklijke Industrieele Groote Club, Dam 27, Amsterdam

General information
During the year, HPP organises a number of small, private meetings for decision-makers and guests from the HPP Community. The intimate atmosphere and private nature of these meetings enable participants to exchange thoughts on the basis of equality. The themes of these meetings vary from housing construction, legislation, spatial planning, finances, energy transition and topics related to sustainability and the climate.

This meeting will be organized for the HPP-IREIN and HPP-REDA communities.
