HPP about the transformation of city centres
(online Zoom meeting)
In the cities, and not only in the G5, there has been an absolute deforestation. Before the corona crisis, every empty space in the streets was filled with bars and restaurants. Now that temporary catering has disappeared and more retail is disappearing, gaps mark the street scene. Practically every city and village in the Netherlands has this problem…
The question is: Will all the vacant retail in the city centre be filled with catering, or will we actually use a structural approach to bring the city centres back to life?
HPP would like to organise a series of meetings with various parties (provinces, municipalities, market parties, financial institutions) to look for solutions. One of the questions is: isn’t a large transformation fund needed for this problem? This, of course, requires a great deal of knowledge and energy and market players who are willing to address this.
For the first meeting on 20 April, we have invited:
- Jeroen Lokerse – Head of Netherlands at Cushman & Wakefield
More information about Jeroen’s presentation will follow. We have challenged him to share with us his vision about what to do with the vacant retail space.
- Huib Boissevain – Owner Annexum
In his presentation, Huib will share with us his plans to bring back vibrancy to inner cities.
When: Tuesday 20 April
Time: 16.30 – 18:00
Where: online via Zoom
