HPP about elderly housing 3.0: concepts for the future

Rest home, old people’s home, sheltered accommodation, service flat, care home and nursing home. Accommodation for the elderly continued to evolve in recent decades. Due to the double ageing population, the elderly target group is growing rapidly. The senior of the future has specific housing needs and new affordable housing concepts are needed for the ever-growing group of seniors to live independently. What are the next steps? What are the concepts of the future?

To find answers to these questions, HPP is organising a meeting on senior housing on Monday 15 May. Cees van Boven, chairman of the board of Woonzorg Nederland, will take us through his views on this topic. He will also share experiences he recently gained during a study trip to Japan. This country is facing an enormous ageing population: currently, 1/3 of the population is over 65. How is Japan dealing with this and what can we learn from it?

Anja van den Borne of Long at Home Investments will give insight into innovative housing for seniors and shares with us how she is doing her bit to develop housing for seniors. Independence, smart technology and from medicalisation to community are key in this.

As you have come to expect from the HPP meetings, we will once again bring the discussion to the table this afternoon while enjoying some nice food and drinks.

When: Monday 15 May 2023
Time: 15:30 walk-in, 16:00 – 18:00 round table meeting
Where: Woonzorg Nederland, Professor E.M. Meijerslaan 3, Amstelveen

General information
During the year, HPP organises a number of small, private meetings for decision-makers and guests from the HPP Community. The intimate atmosphere and private nature of these meetings enable participants to exchange thoughts on the basis of equality. The themes of these meetings vary from housing construction, legislation, spatial planning, finances, energy transition and topics related to sustainability and the climate.

This meeting will be organized for the HPP-PUBLICHPP-REDA communities.
