A visit to one of the largest wood-hybrid office buildings in Europe | by BESIX Netherlands
Never before has a wood-hybrid office of this size been built in Europe. This brings challenges but above all benefits. BESIX Nederland takes you on a journey to the realisation of DPG Media’s new office. A new journalism centre including workplaces for employees of Het Parool, de Volkskrant, Trouw, vtwonen, Libelle, radio recording studios for Qmusic and an appealing event location. With over 46,000 m2 of office space, it will be one of the largest wood-hybrid office buildings in Europe.
Nic de Roeck: “The building design focuses strongly on a sustainable and healthy working environment. Most of the construction will be made of wood. As an innovative builder and renovator, we want to further extend the sustainable nature of innovative urban development with this project.”

- 15:30 – 16:00 | Walk-in
- 16:00 | Lieven van Sande (project director Mediavaert) takes us on a tour through the building and tells us all about the process and sustainability aspects in a presentation.
- 17:30 | With a snack and drinks, we listen to Nic de Roeck (general director BESIX Netherlands) & Mark Willemsen (client DPG Media) who will talk about timber construction, BESIX, and their technically complex and unique projects.
