HPP Round Table Meeting about acceleration in the housing stock

900,000 extra homes by 2030: a fairy tale or a real challenge? The government is pulling out all the stops to add 900,000 homes to the current housing stock by 2030. 350,000 homes of these should be affordable and in the middle segment. But how realistic is this?

One housing deal after another is being signed with provinces, but who are the other players in this game? And are any hard agreements being made with them? There are doubts on all sides about whether the 100,000 homes to be built by 2023 will be met. Reasons enough to get informed about new initiatives for both the rental and owner-occupied sector.

HPP is organizing a roundtable meeting on 19 April about acceleration in the housing stock. Guido Braam, co-founder of Powered By Meaning, will open the evening with the presentation of the RIGO report ‘Assessment framework instruments affordable buy for starters’. Then Remco Boer, Director Rabo SmartBuilds, gives an insight into the plan to build 12,000 modular mid-rent homes in the Netherlands in 10 years. How do they hope to achieve this and what are the obstacles in their path? Hieke Bakker, Director of Stichting Cokopen, will close the evening with a presentation on the Cokopen concept. She aims to show that cooperation between municipalities, corporations and the market is an opportunity, but also a must.

Jeroen Hatenboer is moderator during the roundtable meeting.

About the round table meetings
In a time when so many changes are taking place in our sector, we are increasingly getting the need to make our voices heard (and that does not automatically imply an opposing voice.) Despite the fact that it is sometimes difficult to make time to engage with fellow decision-makers, the need is often there. A discussion, sector-wide, about the challenges we face, may give a different perspective. Therefore, we organize round table discussions (with a limited number of members) where we can talk and discuss issues that concern us. If relevant we will report the outcome.

This meeting is for invites only.
