Minister Ollongren

Minister of Internal Affairs

If I’m right, for HPP it’s already the twelfth EXPO REAL in a row… and not without reason. It is still the place to be for everyone who does anything in real estate.

And now that I have your attention, I would like to share a short message with you.

The Netherlands is currently suffering from a shortage in the housing market. People in large cities, in particular, have difficulty finding affordable housing. That is why we are focusing on building new homes – especially in the mid-market. We are working on this with many parties: provinces, municipalities, housing associations, project developers, builders, real estate agents, investors, etc. Because everyone’s commitment is desperately needed. Yours too!

To investors who exhibit excessive behaviour, act speculatively and are only interested in achieving fast, high returns, I say ‘no!’

To investors who, on the other hand, want to enter into a lasting relationship with the Dutch housing market, I say ‘yes, please.’

The Dutch economy is growing, consumer confidence is high, and home sales are still at record levels. These favourable indicators have a positive effect on the attractiveness of investing in the Dutch housing market and making it more sustainable.

I cordially invite you to work together with us in a sustainable way!
